We’ll be bringing stories of the challenges faced by many job seekers in recent years. In 2008 we endured the worst economic and employment crisis in decades. From that point on, we focused on supporting people through small group efforts – people that needed the momentum and acknowledgement that they were not alone in their own job loss experiences. In corporate recruiting, we do consider the real reasons why people are no longer with one company or another, or what the truth is about multiple layoffs. Yet in this environment – it didn’t matter why people lost their jobs. What mattered was empowering them to be better job seekers and how to prepare one’s own self-marketing plan for the continuation of their careers or transition to another.
Here we’ll share a few of the stories of those individuals who were willing to share. Many of them with strong credentials and solid experiences; but very often age or salary expectations because of tenure was a detriment, and often, those two obstacles go hand-in-hand.
